Doosan Portable Power will demonstrate a new light compaction line at the World of Concrete 2022 from January 18 to 20 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Four new light compaction machines will be on display: a forward plate compactor, a reversible plate compactor, a trench roller and an upright rammer. The Trench Roller is a new product addition to the Doosan Portable Power line-up, while the other three machines are significant product updates.
“This is the biggest update to Doosan portable power light compaction products since Doosan acquired the line in 2007,” said Joe Tomlin, Doosan’s light compaction product specialist. “Our dealers are excited to have a trench roller added to our line-up because it is something our customers are asking for.”
Each machine in the line-up has been redesigned and powered by the latest Honda or Yanmar engine. Extra attention was given to making service points easier for operators to access without tools, while guarding was also added in vulnerable spots to maximize durability.
New machine options increase ease of use and maintenance, including transport wheels available for all models, hour meters to track service intervals, and water sprinklers.
The new DTR3275 trench roller enables more efficient, safer trench compaction. The Roller is powered by a wireless remote that is solar powered, so the crew doesn’t have to worry about entering a ditch or charging the remote. The unit is one of the few trench rollers on the market that oscillates up and down, from left to right. This wide range of movement enhances roller ground contact to get the job done in fewer passes. The central joint is maintenance-free to increase joint up-time.
The DRX70 Upright rammer features an optional air pre-filter system that reduces pressure on the air filter and extends the life of the air filter five-fold, reducing the cost of machine ownership. To further increase the up-time, all major service points can be accessed without tools. Rammer’s offset shoe design makes it easy for operators to place the shoe against the wall, and the machine is available with six shoe widths. Operators can adjust the handle to three positions for more comfortable, ergonomic operation for operators of all heights.
The RP3220 reversible plate compactor’s industry-leading hand-to-hand vibration reduction makes it one of the most comfortable machines of its kind to operate. To further increase ease of use, the baseplate cleans itself. Available options include a rubber floor pad that attaches easily without tools. Other options are transport wheels for easy movement around the workplace, a water sprinkler to prevent fresh asphalt from sticking, and an hourly meter.
The DFP1520 Forward Plate Compactor is simple to use and maintain for operators of all experience levels. All service points can be accessed without tools. An optional rubber mat for use on pavers is also installed in seconds without any tools. Other options include an hourly meter, transport wheels and a water sprinkler system.
