Happy New Year and Welcome to the
All New Format of FocusOn Equipment Rentals

Thanks to all subscribers and manufacturers that participated in the “New Look Advisory Group.” This is not just a new look for the e-publication but also an opportunity to provide you and your industry with more information that will be of interest to you. This information will be updated often throughout the month as important news breaks so be sure to check in regularly!

We will update the big news stories that are developing on a daily basis such as the $4.2 billion acquisition of RSC by United Rentals. We will include updates on the news ticker linked to full details following the January 26th United Rentals Full Year 2011 Conference call hosted by United Rentals CEO Michael Kneeland and CFO William Plummer and the RSC Holdings conference call of the same date also reporting their 2011 results. You can be sure most of these conference calls will be devoted to the acquisition.

FocusOn Equipment Rentals will continue to provide you with our industry leading product reviews along with videos and brochures on the latest equipment and in the February edition we will launch the new sections:
  • Tricks of the Trade — Technical Assistance from Industry Insiders.
  • From the trenches — equipment stories from around the world; some odd, some funny, some fascinating — but all interesting.
  • General interest news ... and here's one of those now...

Facebook Lead Police to Stolen Rental Stock
John Milner, owner of Milner Rental in Gulfport, was looking at pictures on Facebook when he spotted some of his party rental inventory in a picture. It was posted by a relative of Jonathan Huckabay, a former employee of Milner.

Milner checked his inventory and found he was missing a large party tent, tables and chairs. Following his call to police, investigators recovered the missing property at Huckabay's home, and he was arrested. Gulfport Police said the 25-year-old was being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center pending a preliminary hearing.

I am always interested in hearing from you on any suggestions you may have to improve our e-mag or if there are specific stories you would like to see in future editions. Feel free to email me at editor@thefocusongroup.com. I do respond to all emails.
